Lepage Park

 

LePage Park is located on the left bank of the John Day River at the confluence of the John Day and the Columbia. Lewis and Clark called the John Day River the "River Le Page", after Corps of Discovery member, Jean Baptiste Lepage, a French trapper who joined the Lewis and Clark expedition at the Mandan villages.

Ce Jean-Baptiste Lepage qui a donné son nom à Lepage Park est né le 20 août 1761 à Kaskashia, Illinois. Il est le fils de Prisque Pagé et de Marie-Françoise Michel. Prisque Pagé est le fils de Pierre Pagé et de Marie-Catherine Morisset. Pierre Pagé est le fils de Robert Pagé, l'ancêtre des Pagé d'Amérique.
